1906 1909 COLUMBIA DISC “GRAPHOPHONE” / PHONOGRAPH Picture(s) and Description:
1906 COLUMBIA "DISC GRAPHOPHONE" with 8 peddle 19" horn & analyzing reproducer This has been a great piece to own & we will truly miss it. I have never seen a Columbia like this one, so we are not sure of the model. I believe it to be an early BNW, but not for sure. The cabinet is in fantastic condition. Everything is tight & she still maintains her original finish. We have cleaned the wood with a mixture of orange & lemon oils to remove the 100 years plus of build-up & oxidation. Followed by 2 rubs of Howard Restore-A-Finish (oak), and a good rubbing of Howard Feed-N-Wax (Beeswax & Orange Oil). The motor has been disassembled & cleaned. Springs are in excellent condition. All gears & governor are tight. Everything has been lubricated. The brake/speed control on this machine comes through the front, just to the left of the motor board latch. It really works well and lets you fine tune the speed of the record by a turn of the knob. The center shaft is a push / pull for the brake. I usually crank the motor 45 to 55 turns and can listen to a couple of 78's. It's quiet & strong! All tags (front, front left, & inside cabinet tag (pics 2, 3, 11) are original and in great condition. The Flower horn is an 8 petal 19" wide x 18" long screw in type. It has a small crease in one of the petals and a few battle scars, but over-all, it's in very good condition. Tone arm & support bracket are very clean & operate smooth. Turntable is a 10" cast that was re-felted sometime back. The Reproducer has been rebuilt & is one that you just don't see to many of. It's a Analyzing reproducer that also has the famous "Dolcher" volume regulator (an adjustable pad that could be used to mute the reproducer, Pic #8). This Columbia will come with 100+ mixed needles, and three very nice Columbia 78's. Cabinet size : 13-3/8" long x 13-3/8" deep x 5-5/8" tall. Will be shipped with plenty of bubble wrap & peanuts in two separate boxes that are 1" styrofoam lined to insure a safe arrival. New owner will only pay for the phonograph to be shipped. We will pay to have the horn shipped (in the lower 48 states only). Will try and answer any questions. Thanx for looking, and good luck!
